\nFrom the valley station, walk along Sternallee past the F\u00f6rsterhof until you reach the right-hand turn leading up to Jausenstation Aschinger.
\nFrom there, a wide path leads through the forest up to Dorneralm and then on to Schafbergalm.
\nFrom there, hiking route no. 20 (marked) leads up a steep stretch all the way to the summit after crossing the railway line twice.

\nFrom the church, walk a brief stretch towards the post office, then head up towards Kalvarienberg on your right.
\nContinue on marked hiking route no. 25 through the forest towards Auerriesenalm.
\nContinue on the narrow path up towards Lake M\u00f6nichsee at an altitude of 1,300 metres.
\nJust before the fork in the road is the start of Purtschellersteig, which first crosses a very steep hillside, then leads towards the entry of a cave via a steep rock face with safety ropes.
\nImmediately after the cave, the path splits in two. The right-hand path will take you up the summit of the Schafberg across a steep stretch.

\nFrom the church, head north on Mondseerstra\u00dfe towards the Bundesstra\u00dfe.
\nCross the Bundesstra\u00dfe and after a short ascent and descent and another crossing of the Bundesstra\u00dfe, you will reach the village of Winkl. On your right, a narrow road leads you to Gasthaus Waldschenke.
\nFrom there, hiking route no. 804 takes you up the Schafbergalm.
\nFrom there, hiking route no. 20 leads up to the summit.
